Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to work on a project in the finance industry.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. You will join a growing FinTech engineering team working across multiple products, in an open and collaborative environment where engineers are empowered to be creative. In this role, you will own and evolve the test automation approach end-to-end partnering closely with developers and business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, improve quality practices, and ensure reliable releases. You’ll work with modern automation tooling (e.g., PyTest, Cypress), contribute to BDD ways of working, and support testing across functional, regression, UI, performance, and exploratory areas within a cloud environment (Azure preferred).

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using tools such as PyTest, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Own and continuously improve the test automation suite, including frameworks, tooling, and test coverage.
• Collaborate closely with customers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Work within a defined delivery process to design and execute high-quality test strategies aligned with business needs.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, performance, and UI testing across multiple products.
• Carry out security testing where required and support secure delivery practices.
• Ensure all test documentation is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
• Identify gaps in testing processes and proactively implement process improvements.
• Partner with development teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve defects efficiently.
• Contribute to teams using BDD practices and collaborative quality ownership.
• Work within cloud-based environments, with a strong preference for Azure.

What you will bring:

• 5+ years of experience in a QA Automation or similar testing role.
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTest, Cypress).
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and exploratory testing.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) practices.
• Experience testing systems deployed in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to design and implement complex test scenarios.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring quality.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant IT or Testing qualification (e.g., ISTQB or equivalent).
