About The Role

BigBear.ai is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Principal UI/UX Designer to lead the product design initiatives for our next-generation SaaS applications. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience of digital twin, simulation, and operational dashboard solutions that are critical to our clients' success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing enterprise-level IaaS/SaaS platforms, with a focus on data visualization, analytics, and machine learning interfaces. As a senior leader in design, you will oversee end-to-end product design, contribute to the evolution of our enterprise design system, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management and engineering. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to influence high-impact software used in mission-critical industries and to work alongside some of the brightest minds in AI and technology.

Qualifications

  • 14+ years of relevant experience in UI/UX design, preferably with enterprise SaaS products
  • A related Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) is a plus but not mandatory
  • Proven experience in design leadership roles, including mentoring and team development
  • Strong portfolio showcasing product design projects, especially in data visualization, simulation, or analytics
  • Experience working within agile development environments
  • Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Axure, or Sketch
  • Hands-on experience designing digital twin applications, operational dashboards, or related SaaS solutions
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular) to inform design decisions
  • Exceptional visual design skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working on enterprise IaaS/SaaS platforms and understanding of complex data-driven applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence organizational standards
  • Familiarity with AI tools and generative design technologies is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute hands-on UI/UX design for SaaS products, emphasizing digital twin, simulation, and operational dashboards
  • Manage the entire design process from research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and final visual implementation
