About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our AI Lifecycle Team. This role is primarily remote but requires reporting to the Mountain View location at least three times a week if residing within a 50-mile radius. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the UX backbone and visualization tools used by Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) to manage the entire AI lifecycle in autonomous vehicle systems. You will collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, research scientists, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art AI solutions that support data collection, model training, deployment, and performance evaluation. Your expertise will contribute to building robust backend integrations, enhancing system observability, and ensuring a seamless user experience across the AI lifecycle framework. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of intelligent driving technologies and advance GM’s leadership in autonomous vehicle innovation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience building production-level frontend applications using React, Angular, WebGL, or similar frameworks
  • Proven experience in deploying and operating high-availability services
  • Strong background in enterprise architecture, systems architecture, and integration standards
  • Programming proficiency in Python, Java, and Go
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, automation, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to analyze broad technical, functional, and business challenges and develop strategic initiatives
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to partner with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in designing scalable backend systems and ensuring data quality across complex workflows
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain frontend applications that provide a unified experience across the AI lifecycle
  • Build backend integrations to support data collection, model training, deployment, and evaluation processes
  • Enhance system observability, debuggability, and operational excellence to improve reliability and user experience
  • Partner with engineering teams to understand requirements and design scalable, robust frameworks
  • Implement and optimize cloud-based solutions, automation, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment
  • Collaborate with research and machine learning teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, prototyping, implementation, review, and monitoring
  • Ensure high data quality and seamless end-to-end data flow across systems
