About The Role

Software engineers (Ad Cloud Bidding) at Appier Tokyo office build a wide range of platforms and services that interconnect data and AI with our customers and users. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on service operations to maintain and optimize our large-scale distributed systems. You will ensure our backend services run reliably and efficiently through automation, monitoring, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Manage system deployment, configuration, and release pipelines
• Design and manage automated deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable releases
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response when required
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools or technologies to improve operational workflows
  
  

About You

[Minimum qualifications]

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or site reliability engineering
• Familiar with Unix/Linux environments
• Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash
• Experience in infrastructure-as-code tools
• A proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement and strong sense of ownership

• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
• Knowledge of performance profiling and load testing tools
• Exposure to security hardening, access control, or compliance auditing
