Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong experience in Azure data platforms to design and maintain centralized, scalable, and secure data solutions. This role focuses on building modern data pipelines, enabling analytics at scale, and supporting data governance and cloud-native architectures in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement centralized data solutions using Azure Data Hub, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration.
• Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations and analytical datasets.
• Apply data modeling and data warehousing best practices to support analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across cloud-native architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business needs.
• Support data governance, security, and compliance standards within Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot data issues and continuously improve platform efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–6+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure data platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and cloud-native architectures.
• Understanding of data integration patterns, governance, security, and compliance in Azure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Delta Lake, Spark, or other big data technologies.
• Experience with REST APIs and enterprise data migration tools.
• Knowledge of Python for reusable components, data manipulation, and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Azure certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate or similar).
• Domain knowledge of the North America Retail Power & Gas Market.
