Lead Product Specialist

We are seeking a Lead Product Specialist for Observability to enhance the effective use of observability tools across teams while setting the vision for product adoption and engagement. This role involves defining standards, developing governance frameworks, and driving best practices in change management, user experience, and performance measurement, as well as creating training materials, documentation, and onboarding resources to empower users.

As a key advisor to product management and engineering leadership, the Lead Product Specialist will influence roadmaps and ensure that business priorities are embedded in technical solutions. The role focuses on building a collaborative observability community, identifying knowledge gaps, and driving user adoption through effective communication and user-centric enablement strategies. Additionally, the Specialist will foster cross-business alignment to harmonize product approaches, reduce duplication, and maximize scalability.

By combining deep technical insight with a strong understanding of business needs, the Lead Product Specialist plays a critical role in bridging gaps between technology and users, championing innovation, and ensuring that digital investments translate into sustainable business outcomes.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Bridge Technology and Users: Combine deep technical insight with an understanding of business needs to bridge gaps between technology and users, championing innovation and sustainable outcomes.
  • Foster Community: Build and nurture a collaborative observability community that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement among users.
  • Identify Knowledge Gaps: Analyze the observability community to identify and address knowledge gaps, ensuring all users have the necessary skills and understanding.
  • Create Resources: Develop comprehensive onboarding materials, documentation, and training resources to empower users and enhance their experience.
  • Enable Teams: Facilitate efficient use of observability tools by providing hands-on support and guidance to teams.
  • Optimize Onboarding: Streamline onboarding processes to ensure new users are effectively integrated and equipped to utilize observability tools.
  • Define Standards: Set the vision for product adoption by defining standards and developing governance frameworks that drive best practices.

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years' working experience in the field of Observability (preferably with Grafana Stack)
  • Profound knowledge in Observability solutions (preferable Grafana Stack) and Open Telemetry
  • Experience in applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in global, matrixed organizations
  • Track record of driving adoption and business value at scale
  • Fluent in English, both written & spoken, intercultural awareness and willingness to travel from time to time
