About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Machine Learning Scientist to join our Central AI team based in Bellevue, WA. This strategic role is pivotal in building the foundational infrastructure, data pipelines, frameworks, and models that support AI-driven features across all Atlassian products and platforms. As a key member of the Central AI organization, you will lead efforts to accelerate AI innovation, develop scalable machine learning solutions, and ensure the seamless integration of AI functionalities into our suite of products. Your expertise will guide the design of system and model architectures, oversee rigorous experimentation, and mentor emerging ML engineers. Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of industry experience in data science, machine learning, or AI development

- Strong familiarity with SQL, Spark, and cloud data environments such as AWS or Databricks
- Experience building and scaling machine learning models for business applications using large datasets
