Frontend Software Engineer (React, TypeScript or JavaScript)
Hourly Contract | Part-Time Remote | $80 –$120 per hour
1. About the Role
Mercor is hiring experienced frontend engineers to support high-impact AI research collaborations with leading labs. In this role, you’ll help enhance AI systems by extending and validating real-world coding benchmarks that reflect modern frontend development practices across JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.

2. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate coding benchmarks in React, TypeScript, or JavaScript by curating issues, solutions, and test suites from real-world repositories
- Ensure benchmark tasks include comprehensive unit and integration tests for solution verification
- Maintain consistency, scalability, and clarity across benchmark tasks
- Provide structured feedback on solution quality, design approach, and code readability
- Debug, optimize, and document benchmark code for reliability, reproducibility, and maintainability
3. Ideal Qualifications
- 3–10 years of professional experience as a frontend engineer
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Experience with debugging, testing, and validating frontend code
- Comfortable with technical writing, documentation, and attention to detail
4. Project Timeline
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: ~1 month
- Commitment: Part-time (15–20 hours/week)
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous with flexible working hours
5. Compensation & Contract
- $90 per hour plus lucrative bonus per approved task
- (Each task takes ~1 hour; median average pay with bonuses is ~$200/hr)
- Independent contractor engagement
- Daily payments via Stripe Connect
