Job Title: Senior Engineer – Embedded Security

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Relocation Opportunity)

Job Purpose

A defense company based in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Embedded Security Engineer to join its team. The role is ideal for a highly skilled Engineer with deep expertise in embedded security and cryptography. You will be designing and implementing advanced security solutions for embedded systems and you will be working on secure boot, encryption and secure communication protocols.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop secure boot mechanisms across embedded platforms (Intel, Layerscape, Zynq PS platforms).
  • Design disk encryption solutions using OpenSSL/WolfSSL.
  • Integrate hardware security features (TrustZone, TPM, HSM).
  • Architect and implement Key Management Systems (KMS).
  • Enable secure key provisioning and OTA updates.
  • Implement end-to-end encryption and authentication protocols.
  • Design secure firmware update mechanisms with rollback protection.
  • Develop secure communication protocols (IPSec, TLS).
  • Define tamper detection and FIPS-compliant protection measures.
  • Optimize cryptographic performance and ensure compliance with FIPS, NIST, NSA standards.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Secure boot and chain of trust implementation.
  • Disk encryption technologies (DM-Crypt, LUKS).
  • Hardware security integration (TPM, HSM, TrustZone).
  • Cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, ECC, PQC).
  • Secure firmware update mechanisms.
  • Network security protocols (IPSec, TLS, VPN).
  • Compliance with FIPS, NIST, and NSA standards.
