Job Title: Software Product Owner
Location: Remote First - One day per month in Limerick
Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Product Owner to join our team. You will play a key role in driving product development and delivery, working closely with stakeholders, business teams, and development squads. This position is remote, but applicants must be based in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is clearly defined, prioritised, and aligned with business goals.
- Translate business requirements into well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate the product vision.
- Work closely with Agile teams, ensuring alignment with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) practices.
- Participate in PI (Program Increment) planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews.
- Ensure features deliver real business value, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Act as the key decision-maker on product functionality and priority within the team.
- Monitor delivery progress and adjust backlog priorities as needed.
- Advocate for agile ways of working and contribute to continuous improvement within teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Owner in a software development environment.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and SAFe.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, UX, and business stakeholders.
- Previous experience working in Software Development
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate vision and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while staying connected to a distributed team.
- Must be based in Ireland with the right to work.
Nice to Have
- Background in software engineering, business analysis, or product management.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and SaaS products.
