Job Description

Ready to ship production code multiple times per week with real decision-making power? A well-funded construction technology company needs a senior full stack engineer who thinks deeply about TypeScript and Node.js, not someone who copies framework patterns.

About the Company

Our client is a stable, well-funded software company backed by a 90-year-old commercial construction firm. The team builds digital products that solve real problems for field crews: engineering, scheduling, and process management tools. US-based and fully remote. Small team. Positive culture. Minimal bureaucracy.

The Role

You will provide critical engineering coverage during a lead engineer's three-month leave, then continue building features and infrastructure. Success means shipping quality code, taking ownership of ambiguous tickets, and contributing product ideas by day 45.

What You Will Do

  • Own features end-to-end across web and mobile applications
  • Write production TypeScript and Node.js code daily
  • Design APIs and architect solutions for construction workflow problems
  • Work with Next.js, React, Postgres (Drizzle ORM), and Vercel
  • Ship code multiple times weekly with minimal meetings (one per week)
  • Use AI tooling actively for code review, writing code, and designing interfaces
  • Collaborate directly with engineering leads and the product manager

Required

  • Deep TypeScript knowledge at the language level, not framework-dependent
  • Strong Node.js ecosystem experience built from fundamentals
  • Self-starter mindset: you take vague tickets and figure them out
  • Product engineering thinking: you consider user flow, not tickets in isolation
  • Experience with React and Next.js in production
  • US work authorization without sponsorship
  • US-based (any time zone)

Preferred

  • React Native or Expo experience (mobile app on iOS and Android)
  • Zero-to-one product experience at a startup or small team
  • GitHub Actions or CI/CD workflow experience
  • Comfort with AI-assisted development workflows

Compensation and Benefits

Up to $80/hour, W2 with benefits through Pave Talent. Six-month contract with extension possible. Fully remote. High autonomy. Real technical ownership.

Culture

The team values engineers who think about products, not task completion. One weekly meeting. Direct access to leadership. Your code helps construction teams in the field within days of writing it.
