About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative AI/ML Engineer to join our dynamic team at DigitalOcean. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge generative AI applications and agents utilizing modern frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex. Your expertise will be pivotal in implementing and optimizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to ground AI models with customer-specific data, ensuring high accuracy and relevance. You will establish robust evaluation frameworks, including A/B testing methodologies, to monitor model performance and mitigate failure modes like hallucination. Collaborating closely with the Integrations team, you will ensure seamless incorporation of AI solutions into customer products and the DigitalOcean platform. Additionally, you will work alongside the AI Product Manager to translate customer use cases into rapid prototypes and scalable production pilots, driving innovation and value delivery across the organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an ML Engineer, Applied Scientist, or Software Engineer specializing in AI/ML.
- Proven track record of deploying large language models (LLMs) and generative AI models into production environments.
- Expertise in Python and common data science/ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.
- Strong understanding of MLOps principles, including version control, monitoring, and scaling AI services.
- Extensive experience with prompt engineering, data preparation, and vector database technologies.
- A portfolio or demonstrable history of translating advanced models into practical business solutions.
- Design, build, and deploy end-to-end generative AI applications and agents using modern frameworks.
- Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures grounded in customer data.
- Establish evaluation frameworks and conduct A/B testing to measure and enhance model performance.
- Collaborate with the Integrations team to embed AI solutions seamlessly into customer products and the DigitalOcean platform.
- Work with the AI Product Manager to convert customer use cases into rapid prototypes and scalable pilots.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and incorporate best practices into ongoing projects.
