Software Engineers – Wireless PHY (Senior & Principal)
Southampton (Hybrid 2–3 days/week) | £70k–£100k + Bonus + Equity + Sponsorship

You’ll be building and optimising real-time software that sits directly in the physical layer of advanced wireless systems — the part where latency, throughput and correctness actually matter.
What you’ll work on
- High-performance C/C++ on x86 or ARM
- Real-time PHY signal-processing implementations
- Optimising hot code paths using SIMD/vectorisation
- High-performance APIs for hardware-accelerated paths (Linux, PCIe, DPDK)
- Collaboration with DSP, FPGA and systems teams
- Software that ships into real 4G/5G and satcom deployments
Who this is for
Engineers with prior experience in wireless Layer-1 / PHY development, such as:
- OFDM/MIMO algorithms
- Channel estimation/equalisation
- LDPC, Polar or turbo coding
- ORAN Split 7.2, FAPI/LLS
- Real-time DSP implementations
- Low-latency C/C++ in hardware-adjacent systems
Senior roles focus on delivery and optimisation;
Principal roles add technical leadership and architectural responsibility.
