Summary

Our client is undergoing a major HCM/Payroll transformation, with an April 1st go-live for the largest user population they have ever migrated (approximately 50-60k employees, including executive leadership).

They need an experienced UAT/SIT Test Lead to serve as the quarterback for all testing activities. This person will own UAT from the business side, bring structure to Systems Integration Testing (SIT), support performance testing, and ensure all teams are aligned and executing effectively.

This is not a hands-on technical tester role. It is a testing leadership, planning, and governance role requiring strong organization, communication, and accountability management.

Key Responsibilities

User Acceptance Testing (Primary Focus)

  • Serve as the UAT Lead for the business, driving readiness, execution, and sign-off.
  • Establish and manage UAT scope, timelines, entry/exit criteria, and reporting.
  • Drive business testers through scenarios, checkpoints, defect resolution, and test completion.
  • Provide consistent communication and escalations to program leadership.

Systems Integration Testing (SIT)

  • Lead SIT activities and introduce structure where it is currently lacking.
  • Develop SIT schedules, inputs/outputs, test scenarios, and dependencies.
  • Align expectations across functional and technical teams.
  • Ensure SIT execution is organized, traceable, and repeatable.

Performance Testing

  • Coordinate performance testing cycles, including batch jobs and recurring scheduled processes.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate results to leadership.

Test Planning & Strategy

  • Create and maintain Test Plans, Test Strategy documents, and governance frameworks.
  • Define testing approach, methodologies, environments, resources, and deliverables.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, structured, and aligned with program milestones.

Tools, Processes & Improvements

  • Drive enhancements within TestRail, improving test case management, traceability, and reporting.
  • Establish repeatable processes the organization can leverage post-go-live.
  • Bring organization, documentation, and discipline to all testing workstreams.

Required Experience

  • Strong experience leading UAT and SIT for large enterprise programs.
  • Proven ability to drive business stakeholders, enforce accountability, and create structure.
  • Familiarity with writing Test Plans and Test Strategy documents.
  • Background as a Test Lead, QA Manager, UAT Lead, Test Manager, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with UKG (workforce management or payroll) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM/Payroll is also valuable.
  • Open to candidates with enterprise testing leadership experience across SAP, ADP, Workday, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
