Northrop Grumman is seeking EmbeddedSoftware Engineers . This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Buffalo, NY

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Targeting & Survivability (T&S) Division.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with, engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements
  • Generate processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, aircraft flight control and display systems

This position may be filled as an Associate Embedded Software Engineer or an Embedded Software Engineer based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineeringor closely related STEM Degree.
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Basic Qualifications for an Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineeringor closely related STEM Degree.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • It will be helpful, though not required, for your course work to have included:
  • Development Languages such as C/C++, Python, Ada,and or
  • Primary Operating Systems such as Linux, Windows, VxWorks,
  • Agile Development using Jira and GitHub,
  • Embedded software, Object Oriented Design, GUI Development using Qt, GPU GSL & CUDA, Web Design

Salary Range:

  • Associate Embedded Software Engineer: $ 69,300.00 - $103,900.00
  • Embedded Software Engineer: $ 83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
