Job Description

🧠 Python Engineer | Chicago | Base up to $200,000 + Bonus + Benefits

We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a specialized team within a global technology-driven trading firm. This team builds the tools, infrastructure, and automation that empower hundreds of engineers to build, test, and deploy faster — directly shaping how world-class software is delivered.

As part of a high-performing, collaborative group, you’ll design and maintain scalable build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling that enhance productivity and reliability across the engineering organization. The ideal candidate is a strong coder who’s passionate about developer workflows and efficiency, with a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain core build systems, libraries, and CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Develop and automate workflows to accelerate development, testing, and deployment.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and improve developer experience.
  • Explore AI-assisted tooling to streamline development and enhance productivity.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong coding fundamentals with Python (must have).
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, ideally across infrastructure or tooling.
  • Experience with containerized workflows (Docker, Bazel, CMake, etc.) and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • A passion for building elegant, scalable systems that make other developers’ lives easier.

Why join:

  • Base salary up to $200,000 USD + highly competitive bonus and benefits.
  • Collaborative, high-impact engineering culture.
  • Work on technical challenges that influence software delivery at scale.
  • Based in Chicago – hybrid working model with relocation support available.

If you’re an engineer who loves optimizing workflows and solving complex system challenges, this is an opportunity to make an outsized impact in one of the most technically advanced environments in the industry.
