Intermediate UX Designer

Hybrid – Manchester (with flexibility across the UK)

Salary: £38,000 – £47,000 per annum

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview

Our client is seeking an Intermediate UX Designer to join their growing design practice. This role sits within multidisciplinary Agile teams, where you will apply user-centred design principles to create accessible, intuitive and impactful digital services.

The role is ideal for a UX professional with strong core design capabilities, experience working in Agile environments and a desire to develop both as a practitioner and a consultant.

This position offers excellent opportunities for progression, with salary placement at the lower end of the full band to allow for growth within the level.

Responsibilities

  • Work within Agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver user-centred design solutions.
  • Design end-to-end user journeys that support seamless, effective service experiences.
  • Use research insights and performance data to identify usability issues and inform design decisions.
  • Produce UX artefacts including journey maps, sitemaps, navigation structures and annotated wireframes.
  • Support usability testing and contribute to iterative improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops with team members and stakeholders to explore problems and co-create solutions.
  • Contribute to the wider design community by sharing best practice, tools and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, UX methods and digital usability.
  • Ability to anticipate multiple user scenarios, including edge cases and failure paths.
  • Demonstrable design skills with a portfolio showcasing web and mobile UX work.
  • Experience using prototyping and design tools (e.g. Sketch, InVision or equivalent).
  • Curiosity about emerging design, technology and UX trends.
  • Strong consultancy skills, with the ability to understand client needs and build trusted relationships.
  • Ability to share knowledge, support capability-building and enable clients to iterate after handover.
