About The Role

We are seeking a talented Web Application Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to design, develop, and maintain innovative web applications that support our research initiatives. Your responsibilities will include creating wireframes and mockups, developing responsive and cross-browser compatible front-end interfaces, and integrating data from various back-end services and databases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality, a passion for learning new technologies, and a client-focused approach to development.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Computer Science or related field plus 1 year related experience; or
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field plus 3 years related experience; or
• Associates degree in Computer Science or related field plus 4 years related experience; or
• A combination of performance, education, and prior directly related experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role.
• At least 1 year of experience developing and maintaining interactive web applications.
• Demonstrated experience with HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and web development tools (npm, jQuery, Bootstrap, or equivalent).
• Experience with responsive design and UI/UX prototyping/wireframing tools.
• Experience using an object-oriented programming language such as C# or Java.
• Client-focused development experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to learn new concepts and technologies.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship.
  
  

Preferred qualifications include experience with SCSS/SASS and knowledge of RESTful Web Services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and develop web applications supporting research initiatives.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web applications and key features.
• Develop complex, flexible, and cross-browser compatible front-end web interfaces following standard HTML, CSS, and TypeScript practices.
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases to ensure seamless functionality.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including code reviews and testing, to uphold high standards of quality.
• Research, recommend, and implement new methodologies, tools, and technologies to enhance development processes.
• Maintain documentation of development activities, technical specifications, and user manuals.
• Work effectively both independently and within team environments, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
