Senior Java Engineers | Low-Latency Trading Systems | Global Crypto Exchange | Hong Kong

A globally regulated, institutional-grade crypto exchange is scaling its engineering organisation across core exchange infrastructure, trading product delivery, and risk platform engineering. With billions in daily trading volume and a full product suite across spot, margin, perpetuals, and options—this is one of the few digital asset venues globally that combines high-performance systems, regulatory integrity, and deep liquidity.

They are hiring senior and lead Java engineers into three distinct teams:

1. Core Exchange Engineering

• Build and maintain ultra-low-latency services for trade sequencing, market interaction, and order flow
• Work with technologies like Chronicle Queue, Aeron, and custom GC-free Java microservices
• Requires strong Java performance engineering and familiarity with event-driven architectures

2. Trading Products Engineering

• Build services supporting new trading products: dated futures, perpetuals, options, and margin
• Work with product managers and quants to bring new markets to life across the trading stack
• Requires clean backend design, microservices experience, and market structure familiarity

3. Risk Engineering

• Two tracks:
• Build real-time risk and margining services (the “trains”)
• Build the underlying streaming platform to support them (the “rails”)
• Requires experience in real-time data processing, risk logic, or high-throughput backend systems

Environment & Stack

• Languages: Java (low-GC), Kotlin, Python, Go
• Infra: Kafka, Chronicle Queue, Aeron, Redis, MongoDB, Flink, Postgres
• Practices: Microservices, GitOps, CI/CD, test-driven development, Kubernetes

Location

Hong Kong-based roles with full relocation and visa sponsorship available.
