Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Data Analyst 3 to support various programs under Advanced Weapons Systems. The role of the Data Analyst is to create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Analysis may have many applications such as to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization. Requires strong statistical and data visualization skills.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Specify, collect, process and present information from potentially disparate data sets
- Generate actionable knowledge from data
- Develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different types of sources.
- Identify patterns and higher-level information from all the data sources through use of tools and application programming
- Explain different insights generated from the data.
- Modernize legacy systems through automation
- 5 years with Bachelor's in Science or Industrial Engineering or Business Management; 3 years with Masters in related; 1 years with PhD
- Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for quickly developing recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different types of sources.
- An understanding of the general problem space and confidence in explaining the different insights generated from the data.
- Experience in taking legacy systems and modernizing them through automation.
- Good understanding of basic statistics.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau
- Ability to obtain Government SECRET security clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $125,300.00 - $187,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
