Accountabilities:

  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing new features, architectural improvements, and technical debt
  • Translate product vision into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and specifications for engineering teams
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to develop positioning, messaging, demos, and sales enablement content
  • Identify and manage strategic technical partnerships with cloud providers, technology vendors, and ecosystem players
  • Serve as a technical product expert in cross-functional discussions and support the open-source community
  • Ensure alignment across engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams, communicating progress and dependencies to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional product management experience, including at least 2 years with core database technologies
  • Strong technical background in database development or a related field (BS or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering)
  • Deep understanding of distributed database architectures (CAP theorem, sharding, replication, consensus protocols) and OLTP systems
  • Proven track record of successfully launching enterprise software or SaaS products from concept to market adoption
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and business stakeholders
  • Preferred: experience with MariaDB or MySQL ecosystems, high-availability clustering (Galera Cluster), cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), and open-source community engagement
  • Knowledge of database performance optimization, security practices, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery in distributed OLTP environments
  • Advanced degrees (MS, MBA) or equivalent technical expertise are advantageous

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Fully remote work within the United Kingdom
  • Opportunities to lead high-impact, mission-critical products
  • Collaboration with cross-functional and globally distributed teams
  • Professional growth and learning opportunities in advanced database technologies
  • Inclusive and supportive workplace culture that values diversity, innovation, and technical excellence
