The Role

We’re seeking a Windows System Engineer. This role is designed for a professional with strong experience in Windows Server environments, system administration, audits, networking, and firewalls.

You’ll play a key role in supporting customer laboratory IT environments, ensuring system performance, security, and compliance across multiple clients.

Location: Must be in Colombia – Remote.

Environment: Colombian and International Teams.

Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).

Timezone: Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00PM CST.

Contract: Non-fixed Term Colombian Contract.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and 2 years of industry experience or an associate degree and 4 years of industry technical experience including, but not limited to, Windows technologies including Microsoft Office, networking, remote computing, and backup systems
  • Experience with systems administration, audits, and firewalls
  • Experience with Windows Server 10 and 11
  • Excellent customer service skills complimented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technology issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, track, and complete tasks for multiple projects under prescribed timeframes
  • Experience in a multi-client environment
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of industry experience OR
  • Associate degree with 4 years of industry technical experience.

Experience

  • Windows Server 10 and 11.
  • Systems administration, audits, and firewalls.
  • Networking, remote computing, backup systems.
  • Multi-client environment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and provide technical support for customer laboratory IT environments, typically integrated with instrumentation
  • Implement customer-specified benchtop computing design and processes
  • Administer and assure connectivity of customer’s Windows-based platform
  • Conduct and maintain inventories of client systems
  • Provide support on the operating system, desktop hardware and peripherals, instrument-controlled software, core desktop applications, and imaging of computers
  • Manage on-boarding, retirement, and relocation of equipment
  • Implement Windows-based security including, but not limited to, user/group permissions, file/folder permissions, group policies, local security policies, etc.
  • Analyze, identify, and implement enhancements, upgrades, and/or solutions to improve the overall support of the desktop platform on time
  • Ensure adherence to client’s corporate policies through periodic reporting and compliance programs
  • Identify and remediate security issues identified by the company’s processes
  • Document and provide technical support for new system validations and change management efforts
  • Create and maintain a physical inventory of client hardware and software infrastructure
  • Submit monthly NetAdmin reports to the vCIO for each client assigned
  • Act as client liaison for software/hardware-related inquiries
  • Participate in client team meetings
  • Support multiple clients and projects
