Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deskside Engineer to join a major IT services provider, supporting a high-profile public-sector security organisation following a recent office relocation. This role involves hands-on deskside support within a sensitive environment, ensuring continuity of service and high-quality technical assistance to end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site deskside and floor-walker support across hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Assist with post-move activities, ensuring end users are fully operational after the site relocation.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across Windows-based environments.
- Handle device builds, imaging, configuration, and deployment.
- Support mobile device setup, troubleshooting, and asset management.
- Work within strict security protocols and follow established incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Liaise with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ticket updates, and asset tracking.
- Active DV Clearance – essential and non-negotiable.
- Strong background in deskside or second-line support.
- Experience working in secure or highly regulated environments.
- Proficiency with Windows 10/11, O365, AD, hardware troubleshooting, and device imaging.
- Excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to support senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting government/law-enforcement-related environments.
- ITIL awareness or certification.
- Knowledge of secure handling processes for IT equipment.
