Job Title: BI Developer – Remote
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled BI Developer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Power BI, and modern data engineering practices. This role is fully remote and will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end cloud-based business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and capable of partnering with business teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native analytics.
Essential / Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop end-to-end BI solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Power BI
- Build robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into Azure
- Develop semantic models, datasets, and interactive dashboards in Power BI using DAX and Power Query (M)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver cloud-native analytical solutions
- Optimize data workflows, queries, and storage for performance and cost efficiency in Azure
- Ensure strong data governance, security, RBAC, and compliance across all BI assets
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Azure-based BI systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability
- Stay current with the latest Azure data innovations and recommend enhancements
- Work with product owners, analysts, and engineers in Agile sprints to deliver high-impact BI solutions
- Manages processes, not people.
- Ensures smooth execution of data and BI workflows across cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and Power BI
- Strong proficiency in SQL and modern cloud-based data modeling
- Deep expertise in DAX and Power Query (M)
- Experience building and orchestrating Databricks workflows using SQL
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for repositories, CI/CD, and deployment automation
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and RBAC
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of BI development experience
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP-500, DP-203)
- Experience with Delta Lake, Lakehouse, or Medallion architecture
- Knowledge of Python or R for analytics or data engineering
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Understanding of AI/ML trends and their integration with BI
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Normal vision requirements including close, distance, peripheral, and color vision; corrective lenses may be required.
- No heavy lifting required.
- Fully remote role with typical office-based working conditions.
- May occasionally interact with onsite or shop-floor teams (virtually) to understand operational data context.
