Job Description


Remote Forensics Specialist (German-Speaking):


Role Overview:


-We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated German-Speaking Forensics Specialist to join our client's critical cybersecurity team.

-This is a contract role focused on supporting robust incident response and forensic analysis across a complex Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.

-The successful candidate will be a pivotal resource in investigating security incidents, ensuring compliance, and protecting our client's vital systems.


-This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote working arrangement from anywhere within the United Kingdom (UK) or European Union (EU).

-This role is up to 12 months temporary with chance of extensions.


Key Responsibilities:


-Incident Response & Triage: Lead and execute technical incident response activities, including host-based and network-based forensics in real-time.

-Forensic Analysis: Conduct in-depth digital forensic investigations on various platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux, network devices, industrial control systems) to identify the root cause, scope, and impact of security breaches.

-OT/IT Focus: Specialized investigation of incidents impacting the convergence zone between OT (e.g., SCADA, DCS) and IT environments.

-Evidence Handling: Maintain strict chain of custody protocols for all collected evidence, ensuring admissibility in legal or regulatory proceedings.

-Reporting & Communication: Prepare detailed, high-quality, and timely forensic reports and executive summaries.

-Effectively communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including German-speaking teams.

-Tool Expertise: Utilize a wide range of forensic tools and platforms (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Volatility, EDR solutions).

-Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous development and refinement of forensic procedures, playbooks, and incident response capabilities.

-Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and IT/OT operational teams.


Essential Requirements:


-Certification: Must possess an active GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) certification.

-Language: Fluent professional working proficiency in German (verbal and written) is mandatory.

-Experience: Proven, extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).

-Technical Skills: Deep understanding of forensic artefacts, memory analysis, disk imaging, and log analysis across modern operating systems.

-Infrastructure Knowledge: Demonstrable experience or strong foundational knowledge of both IT and OT environments and the associated security challenges.

-Contracting Experience: Previous experience successfully managing tasks and deliverables in a contract/consulting capacity.


Location: Must be eligible to work legally as a contractor in the UK or EU.
