Saragossa is partnered with a well-funded AI startup (recently valued over $2B) on a mission to redefine real-world applications of machine learning and large language models across critical industries like housing and healthcare. With a lean, high-caliber team and a culture of solving meaningful, complex problems, this is a rare opportunity to do cutting-edge research that ships.
The company is hiring both Junior and Senior Research Scientists to join a 10-person, research-led team working on some of the hardest problems in AI today, including agentic workflows, predictive modeling, and generative language systems deployed at scale. You’ll work closely with a world-class Head of Research and tackle a wide range of challenges spanning statistical modeling, infrastructure design, and system optimization.
What You’ll Do:
- Research and develop novel ML/LLM architectures for real-world applications
- Build and optimize predictive models that directly impact millions of users
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product teams, and leadership
- Translate complex math into deployable, scalable solutions
What We’re Looking For:
- PhD (preferred) in Math, Physics, CS, or a related field
- Deep coding ability (Python preferred), and experience with ML/statistical frameworks
- A track record of solving hard problems, not just publishing them
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and systematically
- Based in NYC/ Bay area or open to relocating
