This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Security Engineer in United States.

The Cloud Security Engineer will be a key technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and securing complex cloud environments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong emphasis on GCP. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic guidance, ensuring cloud infrastructures are resilient, compliant, and secure. You will work closely with clients, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to address security challenges, lead incident response, and optimize cloud security operations. The position provides a dynamic, client-facing environment with opportunities for technical leadership, mentorship, and continuous learning in advanced cloud security practices. Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers with deep expertise in SaaS security, network security, compliance, and security operations.

Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize secure cloud architectures for multi-cloud environments, emphasizing GCP security best practices
  • Manage and configure cloud-native firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) to protect critical applications
  • Monitor security alerts through SIEM platforms, responding to incidents and providing remediation guidance
  • Conduct penetration testing on cloud, web, and mobile applications, and provide recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Support identity and access management (IAM), encryption, API security, and secure configuration for SaaS applications
  • Lead compliance initiatives and assessments aligned with frameworks such as GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, CMMC, and CSA STAR
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering clear technical guidance, presentations, and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement secure coding practices, manage vulnerabilities, and guide risk mitigation


Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 4 years focused on cloud security engineering
  • Hands-on expertise with GCP, and practical experience with Azure and AWS security services
  • Deep knowledge of SaaS security, network security principles, and firewall/WAF management
  • Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Google Chronicle, Datadog) including alert configuration, dashboarding, and log ingestion
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and alert management
  • Proven ability to secure cloud environments, support security operations, and manage incident response programs
  • Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • CISSP required; CISM desirable; OSWE/OSCP preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or related field. Advanced cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty) are highly desirable
