About The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineer to join our remote engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core components of our consumer privacy mobile products. You will serve millions of users globally, ensuring our applications are secure, reliable, and scalable. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on advanced security features, smart encryption, key management, cloud synchronization, and backend analytics, directly impacting the safety and privacy of our users.
You will work autonomously, owning significant parts of our codebase, and collaborating closely with product and design teams. Your contributions will help scale our infrastructure, develop innovative features, and solve complex security challenges. The role demands a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and a passion for privacy and security engineering. You will be at the forefront of security technologies, working with a tech stack that includes Python, Kotlin, Swift, AWS, and various NoSQL and SQL databases. Your work will help shape the future of consumer privacy solutions, making a tangible difference in users' digital lives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of full-time professional experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in backend development using Python 3.x
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of DevOps fundamentals and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Experience with mobile backend services supporting iOS and Android clients
- Understanding of database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Couchbase)
- Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (SQS, Pub/Sub)
- Familiarity with security best practices, cryptography, and key management
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Ability to work independently with a strong ownership mindset
- Experience or interest in cryptography and security engineering
- Knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting our mobile applications
- Implement secure encryption, key management, and data protection mechanisms
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services and APIs
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality features
- Scale infrastructure to support a growing user base and data volume
- Develop core infrastructure components for cloud sync, notifications, and real-time communication
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and security
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
- Contribute to open-source projects and stay updated with emerging security technologies
- Engage in fast-paced product iterations, delivering high-quality solutions efficiently
