Job Description


This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in the United States.

This Senior Cybersecurity Engineer role is designed for a highly experienced professional passionate about securing cloud environments and driving organizational cybersecurity maturity. You will take ownership of the security architecture, identity and access management, and endpoint security strategies, ensuring the protection of digital assets across modern cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. The role involves both hands-on technical work and strategic leadership, including mentoring junior staff, implementing best-in-class security controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enforce policies and compliance. You will also evaluate and deploy advanced security tools, respond to incidents, and enhance overall organizational security posture. This position offers a remote work environment, flexible schedules, and the opportunity to significantly influence the company's security strategy.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy and roadmap, aligning with business goals and risk tolerance
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud security controls and policies, with a focus on Microsoft Azure
  • Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), conditional access, PIM, and MFA
  • Architect and manage endpoint security and compliance using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, performing timely investigation and remediation
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage third-party security tools and vendors
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior IT staff on security best practices
  • Develop and manage security awareness programs for employees
  • Conduct risk assessments and translate technical vulnerabilities into business risk insights


Requirements

  • 10-15 years of professional experience in IT Security or related fields
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure security, cloud infrastructure, and IAM
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including conditional access, PIM, and MFA
  • Advanced knowledge of endpoint security and device management with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender
  • Familiarity with network security solutions such as Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA) is a plus
  • Experience with data governance, DLP, and compliance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) preferred
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management
  • Knowledge of email security platforms like Mimecast and AI tools for cybersecurity is desirable
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying security risks to technical and executive audiences
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
