Job Title: Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer

Location: Remote (Onshore Only)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: Long-term | Full-Time (40 hrs/week)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled NOC Engineer with strong experience in network infrastructure operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting. In this role, you will support the end-to-end lifecycle of network systems — from configuration and deployment to maintenance and performance optimization. You will work across multiple network domains, ensuring stability, efficiency, and uptime within a dynamic, high-performance environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, migrate, and maintain network systems ensuring performance and availability.
  • Monitor and investigate network performance, triage and troubleshoot incidents, and provide timely remediation.
  • Process RMAs, handle hardware replacements/upgrades, and maintain documentation according to best practices.
  • Develop and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and contribute to network migration and circuit turn-ups.
  • Provide advanced technical feedback for network performance management, routing, and switching.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Design and implement automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed process flows, operational documentation, and knowledge base content.
  • Identify network capacity and performance bottlenecks to ensure continuous service availability.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of network monitoring tools and utilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between customer-facing teams, network operations, and vendor support.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a NOC or network operations environment.
  • Expertise in Cisco, Juniper, and/or Nokia network platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch and router configuration and management.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF routing protocols.
  • Proven experience with telecom or carrier network troubleshooting and service restoration.
  • Working knowledge of DNS and scripting for network automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.


Preferred Skills

  • Telecom network experience (carrier-grade environments a plus).
  • Experience with performance management tools and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with RMA processes and hardware lifecycle management.
