Job Description


Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

The heart of a spacecraft lies in its propulsion system, and that's why we, at The Exploration Company, are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge Propulsion Systems ensuring the highest level of efficiency and reliability in our space endeavours.

We are looking for a talented Propulsion Test Engineer to support the testing and development of the fluidic and pressurisation systems. You will be responsible for development activities of the test bench for the pressure system and feed system.

Main responsibilities:

  • Test bench development: commissioning of electrical, mechanical, and fluidic test benches
  • Test plan definition & execution: elaboration of qualification, acceptance, and test plans with design team, coordination of their execution and joint analysis of results.
  • Perform test activities on day-to-day basis with inputs and support from simulation teams
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades of test rigs
  • Sensor and hardware calibration and verification between tests
  • Processing test data with support of simulation/functional team
  • Report writing when necessary, after operations and tests

What we would love to see from you:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in testing activities
  • Very good understanding of fluid component selection and assembly, including tubing, fittings, sealing types and materials.
  • Experience using data acquisition equipment, as well as test instrumentation and control components.
  • Experience with the generation of test plans as well as planning and conducting development test campaigns.
  • Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively across departments.
  • Rigorous, autonomous, hands-on, with a strong operational mindset.
  • Fluency in English.
