This position suits a Backend Engineer with strong Python skills, healthcare product experience, and a clear understanding of FHIR-based systems or healthcare data interoperability.
What you’ll do
• Design and maintain backend services that support FHIR-compatible products and APIs.
• Develop and evolve scalable, production-grade systems in Python.
• Integrate AI and data pipelines into healthcare workflows and APIs.
• Work closely with DevOps and data teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and performance in regulated environments.
• Build robust, well-documented APIs used by both internal and external medical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and engineering peers to deliver secure, high-impact solutions.
What you’ll bring
• Strong experience with Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Proven background in healthcare or medical software (e.g. clinical systems, EHRs, health data platforms).
• Practical understanding of FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability.
• Exposure to AI, ML, or data-driven systems in production.
• Solid experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Go or TypeScript is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Dutch residency required (handling medical data under compliance).
