The Opportunity
This is the company’s first dedicated data hire, a “player-coach” role designed to found and grow the data science function from the ground up. You’ll combine hands-on modeling and analysis with strategic leadership, working across product, engineering, and clinical teams to transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights that drive outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Build the foundation: Define the data science stack, systems, and best practices from scratch.
- Go deep technically: Develop predictive and optimization models, conduct ad hoc analysis, and prototype ML applications alongside the ML engineering team.
- Drive product insight: Partner with product and clinical leaders to uncover trends, shape new features, and deliver measurable ROI for clients.
- Deliver clarity to clients: Translate claims and EMR data into intuitive dashboards and actionable business recommendations.
- Lead the way forward: Act as a “player-coach” who will mentor and grow the data team over time.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with healthcare data (claims, EMR/EHR, eligibility, coding sets like ICD/CPT/HCPCS)
- Familiarity with tools such as scikit-learn, StatsModels, PyTorch, R, and standard BI platforms
- A strong mix of technical depth, strategic thinking, and communication skills
