Job Description


Key Responsibilities

Job Summary – Unix System Administrator

  • Administer, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot AIX/IBM and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Ensure reliability, security, and efficiency of UNIX environments.
  • Support system migrations and upgrades.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for UNIX systems, assets, and processes.
  • Collaborate across IT teams to improve infrastructure and support organizational operations.
  • Perform additional IT infrastructure tasks and special projects as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in enterprise server infrastructure.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with IBM AIX in enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience building, patching, and administering AIX, PowerHA, HMC, VIOS, and Managed Systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting AIX-based environments and IBM PowerVM virtualization.
  • Experience with system builds and procedures in virtualized environments.
  • Skilled in monitoring, preventative maintenance, and operating system hardening for security compliance.
  • Experience with shell scripting and/or programming.
  • Proficient with IBM BigFix Patch Management, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, and Ansible.
  • Experience with break/fix for physical server hardware.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for AIX, PowerHA, HMC, VIOS, and Managed Systems.
  • Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in an enterprise environment.
