Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, administration, and performance tuning of MySQL databases.
- Ensure database scalability, reliability, and security across production environments.
- Manage capacity planning, maintenance, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Implement and optimize queries for performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to support analytics and reporting.
- Drive automation, upgrades, and monitoring improvements.
- Support ongoing migration and optimization efforts within GCP and BigQuery.
Required Skills & Experience
✅ Strong commercial experience with MySQL databases in production.
✅ Solid understanding of database design, tuning, and indexing.
✅ Proficiency with Linux/Ubuntu/Windows operating systems.
✅ Scripting knowledge in Shell, T-SQL, or PL/SQL.
✅ Cloud experience with GCP (or AWS).
Desirable:
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Jenkins, Google Spanner, or web applications.
- Knowledge of Couchbase, NoSQL, or other modern database technologies.
