About The Role
Reddit is seeking a talented Product Engineer to join our innovative team working on Reddit Answers, our new AI-powered search experience. This role is fully remote-friendly, with a preference for candidates in U.S. time zones. As a Product Engineer, you will be instrumental in ideating, designing, building, and scaling products within the Reddit Answers space, primarily focusing on the web platform, which is Reddit's largest interface. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Machine Learning, and Data Science, to create impactful features and experiments that reach millions of users worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to a product that leverages community-generated content and modern AI technologies to transform how users find answers, opinions, and conversations on the internet.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript or relevant languages
- Proficiency with front-end frameworks such as React and server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js
- Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals and web performance optimization
- Ability to translate data and user feedback into meaningful product features
- Experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Python and Go
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices including unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation
- Familiarity with translating customer needs into product solutions is a plus
Responsibilities
- Ideate, design, develop, and deploy experiments and features that impact millions of users and align with product vision
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to craft engaging, user-centric experiences
- Contribute insights and help shape team strategy to ensure alignment with shared objectives
- Participate actively in product reviews and team discussions, providing technical expertise and input on scope, estimates, and prioritization
- Mentor peers and foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality and user experience
