Senior Security Engineer (Cloud and Application)

This role offers the opportunity to drive security initiatives across cloud-based and application systems in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. You will help shape secure-by-default practices across engineering teams, contributing to both strategic and hands-on security improvements. The position requires close collaboration with developers, product teams, and infrastructure engineers to review code, assess risks, and implement scalable security solutions. You will work with cloud environments, primarily AWS, to ensure operational security and compliance with industry standards. This role balances proactive security architecture, incident response, and continuous improvement of security tools and processes. It provides the chance to make a measurable impact on the organization's security posture while working remotely in a highly collaborative setting.

Accountabilities:

• Conduct in-depth security reviews of cloud environments and application code, ensuring best practices are implemented from the outset
• Recommend and implement security improvements in AWS, working with engineering and operations teams
• Collaborate with internal product teams to integrate secure-by-default designs and mitigate potential risks early in development
• Operate and enhance security tools and automation to monitor, detect, and respond to threats
• Participate in incident response efforts, including investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis
• Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and standards to support security and compliance objectives
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in application or product security and software engineering
• Strong proficiency with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, VPCs, GuardDuty, Inspector, and CloudTrail
• Expertise in programming languages like JavaScript, Node.js, or Python, with strong testing and documentation skills
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC, GDPR, or ISO is a plus
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across engineering and product teams
