Job Description

At Hyperion360, we believe in empowering our engineers to shape the future of technology from the comfort of their own homes. We are a premier software outsourcing company, partnering with some of the world’s most successful businesses to build and manage dedicated, remote teams of top-tier software engineers and other technical talent.

We are looking for a talented Senior Backstage Developer to join our global team.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Backstage Developer to lead the development, customization, and scaling of Backstage — Spotify’s open-source Internal Developer Portal — for enterprise teams.

This role is central to improving developer experience, streamlining workflow automation, and centralizing software cataloging across large-scale technical environments. You’ll collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver a robust, enterprise-ready developer portal. Strong engineering skills, clear communication, and a detail-oriented mindset are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Automation: Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code to manage cloud resources across multiple environments.
  • Backstage Development: Design and extend plugins, integrations, and platform features tailored for enterprise-scale use.
  • Enterprise Integration: Connect Backstage to CI/CD, observability, identity, cloud, and documentation systems.
  • Developer Experience Enablement: Promote workflow automation, documentation, and self-service tools to enhance productivity.
  • Customization & Security: Implement permission models, security controls, and compliance features across teams and regions.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Integrate analytics and monitoring tools to improve visibility into software and team performance.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with engineering, SRE, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Documentation: Create onboarding guides, plugin usage instructions, and technical documentation for diverse audiences.

Experience:

  • 5+ years as a software or platform engineer in enterprise environments
  • Proven experience deploying and customizing Backstage in production
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud, monitoring, and identity tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS, Datadog)

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript and React
  • Strong experience with Node.js and plugin development
  • Familiarity with Express framework (nice to have)
  • Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi)
  • Solid understanding of microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes

Mindset:

  • Detail-oriented and passionate about building reliable, user-friendly platforms
  • Proactive problem-solver with a bias toward automation
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, distributed teams
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Contributions to Backstage open-source projects or community involvement
  • Experience implementing compliance and security controls
  • Background in multi-region or multi-cloud deployments

Why us?

  • Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere with flexible hours
  • Top-Tier Clients: Partner with Fortune 500 companies and top startups
  • Professional Growth: Continuous learning and development opportunities
  • Competitive Compensation: Market-leading salaries and benefits
  • Global Team: Collaborate with talented professionals worldwide
