About This Position

The Cybersecurity Team, within the Technology and Transformation Department of the IDB, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Security Engineer Consultant. You will work within a group of security-minded and enthusiastic team players providing technical advice, setting security standards, performing risk assessments, addressing challenges, and participating in the development of robust security baselines and processes for cloud and on-premises solutions, while mainstreaming security in the adoption of AI.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement security solutions based on security principles for on-premises, cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid infrastructure (APIs, network, servers, IaaS, PaaS).
  • Maintain and enforce security standards, hardening baselines, and guidelines, continuously adapting them to the evolving security landscape and conducting tests to evaluate compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, infrastructure administrators, and development leaders to co-design and implement security controls.
  • Develop security Key Performance Indicators and tools to monitor and report on performance levels.
  • Conduct threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate security risks in proposed architectures.
  • Communicate effectively with technical personnel and management stakeholders.
  • Foster the secure adoption of AI solutions for the Bank, while contributing to the mainstreaming of agentic AI security engineering.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity, cloud architecture, or risk management with a focus on Azure or AWS platforms.
  • Desirable:
    • At least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, GRISC, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Security Specialty, CCSP.
    • Competence in AI and generative AI technologies, along with their possible applications.
    • Broad understanding of ethical considerations and the responsible use of AI
  • Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is preferred
Requirements

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents).

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
