Job Description


Duties Help As a Human Resources Specialist at the GS-0201-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Provide advice and assistance to employees on overseas entitlements/allowances, overseas employment programs and employee benefits.
  • Counsel employees or arranges for command orientation on unique requirements of downrange assignments, safety precautions, hazardous conditions, restricted information, restrictions on travel, medical requirements, etc.
  • Advise on findings relative to program deficiencies and propose changes to improve overall procedures.
  • In-process employees and ensures that forms are completed accurately and properly processed through the civilian personnel and civilian payroll systems.
  • Maintain civilian personnel data in automated tracking systems.
  • Serve as a Human Resource Specialist performing a variety of Civilian Human Resources Management functions for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency(DSCA), Defense Security Cooperation Service (DSCS). Requirements Help Conditions of employment

  • Security: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: * providing advisory services on overseas employment programs, entitlements, benefits and allowances * consulting on complex recruitment and placement problems and issues unique to overseas assignments * using the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR) to provide information and answer questions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
