Job description:
The Configuration Management Inventory BizOps team is looking for a BizOps Engineer who is experienced in Linux and/or Unix System administration. A perfect candidate would also have experience administering the BMC Discovery application. In this role you will maintain the current BMC Discovery infrastructure which is dominantly Linux based.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership and support to a distributed team managing globally distributed infrastructure.
- Configure, deploy, and administer Linux-based systems across multiple environments.
- Administer the BMC Discovery Software which serves the role of Configuration Management Inventory collection from nearly every type of IT Infrastructure that exists.
- Troubleshoot Network Connectivity and/or Credential issues such as:
- SSH to Linux/Unix Platforms
- WMI Query and PowerShell to Windows
- SNMP to Network Devices
- API Connections (for example Credential and Connection to Cloud Providers AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
- We support many different stakeholders. Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency is needed.

- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems (such as CentOS, RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu).
- BMC Discovery administration experience would be ideal.
- SNMP walk and MIB-tree review experience a plus.
- Understanding of ITIL basics and the principles of change control management is ideal.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as Remedy, Service Now, etc. is ideal.
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB) experience ideal.
- CompTIA Security+ or other Linux and/or network administration certifications ideal.
- Experience with deployment/configuration management and CI/CD and release tools such as Chef, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, XL Release (XLR), Octopus, Satellite, Flow, etc.
