Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Rust Engineer in the European Union.
As a Senior Rust Engineer, you will work on cutting-edge blockchain infrastructure that enhances security and reliability for decentralized applications. You'll design and implement robust, high-performance features that extend the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and improve the efficiency of core systems. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, contribute to open-source crypto infrastructure, and influence the direction of a fast-moving, innovative engineering team. You'll collaborate across teams, drive performance optimizations, and help set high standards for code quality and security in a remote-first, flexible environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and own complex Rust features across the system lifecycle with a focus on performance and reliability
- Extend the EVM with security-focused precompiles and optimize execution through parallel processing and benchmarking
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical solutions clearly
- Support fast iteration cycles, balancing feature development, bug fixing, and code reviews
- Contribute innovative ideas to shape the team roadmap and raise technical standards
- Ensure robust testing and benchmarking practices are applied consistently
- Proven track record of shipping and maintaining complex, performant Rust code to production
- Deep knowledge of the Rust language and ecosystem, with Rust as your primary programming language
- Strong understanding of the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly the EVM and execution layer, with hands-on experience in Ethereum infrastructure
- Experience in low-level system programming, including performance optimization, parallel computing, profiling, and memory management
- Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across remote teams
- Nice to have: experience with MEV infrastructure, HFT systems, real-time data processing, Ethereum client development (Reth/Revm), blockchain architectures, SRE practices, database optimizations, lock-free algorithms, concurrent data structures, or CPU-level optimizations
- Fully remote position anywhere in Europe, with flexible work hours
- Competitive salary: $165k-$200k USD (or €141k-€170k)
- Flexible PTO and health insurance coverage
- Access to major industry conferences and events
- Remote-first environment with optional hub in NYC
- Provision of a new MacBook for work
