Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Manager of Engineering Technical Support 2 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be in Gilbert, Arizona.

Tactical Space Systems has a need for an Operations Manager 2 to be a functional homeroom manager, leading a team of individual contributors, and contribute directly to programs and other department activities.

These are highly dynamic, interactive positions. You will interact with numerous stakeholders including program management, test engineering, flight hardware design engineers and logistical support services. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills are required to succeed in these roles.

Functional Responsibilities Include

  • Staffing support to all space systems and space programs.
  • Conducting periodic performance evaluations, including mid-year and annual reviews
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the staff
  • Managing indirect and capital needs
  • Training of the Spacecraft Operations Team
  • Professional development and mentoring of direct reports
  • Supporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects which include process improvement, Event Response Teams, Corrective, and Preventive Action implementation

Program Responsibilities Include

  • Leading a team of Engineering Technicians
  • Develop technical execution plans to meet program schedules
  • Coordinating mechanical tasks between all disciplines
  • Providing mechanical operation status to upper management and the customer

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) required.
  • Minimum 9 years of combined experience supporting one or more of the following: integration, test, or assembly of electrical/mechanical flight hardware.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a team or projects
  • Familiarity with Gilbert processes and training.
  • Experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in science degree within a technical field.
  • Past Military Leadership a plus.
  • Experience providing technical product support to a customer or a business.
  • Experience establishing goal driven deadlines.
  • Experience supporting hardware work packages.
  • Skilled at providing presentation briefings to all levels of the

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,000.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
