Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an SDET in India.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to ensure the reliability, coverage, and automation of complex software systems. In this role, you will work closely with product engineers to design testable systems, automate repetitive checks, and deliver high-quality code with confidence. The position involves testing both desktop and web applications, including AI-powered features, with a focus on improving test coverage and accelerating release cycles. You will collaborate across engineering and QA teams, identifying gaps, writing automation scripts, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing pipelines. The environment is fast-paced, remote-friendly, and encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and ownership. This role is ideal for detail-oriented engineers who enjoy making software more resilient and predictable.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as first-line support for the engineering team, triaging and reproducing reported issues
- Own bi-weekly regression testing to ensure stable releases and reliable feature coverage
- Identify gaps in test plans and write automation tests for missing smoke and functional tests
- Contribute to improving unit and integration test coverage, guided by tools such as SonarQube
- Design and implement automated tests for desktop (Electron) applications integrated with GitHub Actions
- Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality pull requests and resilient builds
- Work with AI-powered features to design test cases and prompts validating intelligent behavior and performance
- Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for automated browser and UI testing
- Solid understanding of Git and standard version control workflows
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation
- Experience testing Electron applications is a plus
- Understanding of AI models, particularly for designing effective prompts and validating behavior, is desirable
