Job Description
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative tech team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of backend systems, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks, and collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a hybrid position based in Barcelona, offering the perfect balance between office collaboration and remote work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Be responsible for delivering a team’s QA function to ensure changes are delivered to production without issues
- Develop and enhance test automation frameworks, driving improvements and innovation
- Collaborate with a technical, cross-functional agile team throughout the development lifecycle
- Define and implement test strategies and processes focused on backend systems, ensuring quality at all levels
- Contribute to the evolution of the testing approach, including improvements to the testing pyramid (unit, integration, contract, E2E)
- Work closely with stakeholders to define new features and requirements
WHO YOU ARE
- 4+ years experience developing automation tests using a testing framework such as Playwright (preferred), Webdriver, Appium etc.
- Proficient in programming with languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java. Go & PHP experience is a plus
- Skilled in designing tests at various layers of the pyramid, with clean, maintainable code
- Strong experience in API testing in a microservices architecture
- Experienced with CI tools (e.g., Jenkins) and comfortable working with containers
- Comfortable working with databases and using SQL
- Independent and proactive, able to thrive in a highly technical environment with minimal supervision
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with contract testing, performance testing, and cloud-based systems is a plus
