About The Role

As an Enterprise Security Engineer at OpenAI, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s internal information systems infrastructure and processes. You will work in a dynamic, employee-focused environment, collaborating closely with IT and Security teams to develop and implement robust security measures. Your responsibilities will include monitoring internal and external systems for security threats, developing security policies, and deploying advanced security controls across cloud and on-premises environments. This role offers flexibility for remote work, with relocation assistance available for candidates willing to move to Seattle. You will have the opportunity to influence OpenAI’s security architecture, leverage cutting-edge AI-driven security tools, and contribute to a secure environment that supports innovation and research excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing and protecting macOS fleets
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing endpoint security solutions such as EDR tools and management frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud service providers like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of identity and access management frameworks and protocols including SAML, OAUTH, and SCIM
  • Experience with email security protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Intermediate or advanced scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar
  • Understanding of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently on risk mitigation projects
  • Prior experience in enterprise security environments and threat monitoring
  • Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), zero trust architecture, and secure by default principles

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security measures to protect company information assets against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse
  • Monitor internal and external systems for security threats and respond promptly to alerts
  • Contribute to and enforce company IT and Security policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with IT teams to harden infrastructure using best practices in AzureAD, GSuite, Github, and other SaaS tools
  • Advise employees on endpoint security best practices and maintain awareness of security policies
  • Design and deploy data sharing controls, including intelligent group management and DLP solutions
  • Implement secure architectures such as zero trust and secure by default models to create sustainable security environments
  • Identify vulnerabilities in internal systems and remediate risks following best practices for data security
  • Leverage AI-driven models to enhance security detection, response, and data classification capabilities
  • Educate staff on data security importance and promote secure operational practices
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats and contribute to security roadmaps and strategies
