Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join a regional health information exchange organization. This high-impact role offers flexibility and the chance to enhance healthcare outcomes through secure cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities for the Cloud Security Engineer include:
- Configure and manage security settings across Microsoft Azure, Office, and Entra environments
- Implement and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) protections
- Collaborate with the Security and Compliance team to design and enforce security policies
- Lead IT security projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Document security configurations, procedures, and policies thoroughly
- Evaluate cybersecurity tools and ensure adherence to software assurance best practices
- Identify and resolve vulnerabilities, recommending improvements to system components
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on cloud security
- Strong expertise in Azure administration and security best practices
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and other threat protection tools
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
- Familiarity with Sentinel playbooks and incident response procedures
- Ability to maintain a system-level view of security architecture and detect configuration drift
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Preferred certifications: SSCP, CISSP, Azure Security
- Pay Rate: $52.89-$62.40
- 100% Remote
