About The Role

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at MNTN. In this role, you will be instrumental in evolving our Integrations platform to handle large-scale data streams, managing trillions of tuples across hundreds of different integrations. You will take full ownership of designing, implementing, testing, monitoring, and optimizing integration connectors that are critical to our platform’s performance and scalability.

Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across various teams to ensure our data streams are optimized for maximum impact on the business. Additionally, you will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to team growth activities such as knowledge sharing, retrospectives, and exploring innovative uses of AI. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex data systems in a fast-paced, innovative environment, contributing to the company’s growth and technological advancements.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a full-time backend engineer working on SaaS products
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled or JIT language, with Golang preferred; Kotlin, Java, Rust, C++ are also acceptable
  • Basic experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS, PubSub, or RabbitMQ
  • Strong foundation in CS fundamentals including data types, algorithms, and internet architecture
  • Comfortable working with Postgres-flavored SQL; experience with data warehouses like Redshift, BigQuery, or Cloudberry is a plus
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines (DAGs) is advantageous
  • Proficiency with command-line tools and scripting
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • An idealistic yet pragmatic mindset focused on impactful solutions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with team members to enhance the Integrations platform, ensuring it can handle large-scale data processing
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust integration connectors for various data sources and sinks
  • Implement comprehensive testing, monitoring, and optimization strategies for data pipelines
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align data streams with business goals and maximize their impact
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability and prompt issue resolution
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing, retrospectives, and the exploration of AI-driven solutions
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and operational excellence
