Job Description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on cybersecurity professional to lead the design and implementation of advanced security measures in a fast-growing healthcare technology environment. The role combines strategic vision with technical execution — securing hybrid infrastructures, ensuring compliance with key frameworks, and safeguarding sensitive data. You will collaborate closely with IT, operations, and leadership teams to enhance resilience and protect digital ecosystems. This position offers remote flexibility, visibility across the organization, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on data protection and patient trust.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement layered security architectures across cloud (Azure), on-premises, and hybrid environments
  • Manage and optimize tools including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra (Azure AD), Zscaler, Proofpoint, Rapid7, and BeyondTrust
  • Oversee incident detection, triage, and response using SIEM and threat intelligence platforms
  • Lead vulnerability management efforts, maintaining risk registers and coordinating remediation with internal teams and MSSPs
  • Administer identity and access management solutions (PIM, BeyondTrust), enforcing least privilege and zero-trust principles
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and NIST CSF standards through audits and continuous improvement
  • Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to streamline monitoring, reporting, and SOAR workflows
  • Participate in governance activities, including architecture reviews and change advisory boards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Benchmarks) and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with Azure cloud security, SIEM, DLP, IAM, endpoint protection, and network/email security tools
  • Skilled in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python)
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or related credentials are preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary between $130,000 and $150,000, based on experience and location
  • Fully remote work flexibility across the U.S
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage with employer-subsidized premiums
  • 100% employer-paid dental plan for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) with employer match, Roth IRA options, and immediate vesting
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • Generous PTO, 10 paid holidays, and flexible sick leave policies
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development support
  • Wellness programs, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and gym discounts
  • Inclusive and mission-driven culture focused on employee growth, equity, and well-being
