About The Role
We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust WordPress plugins, enhancing existing features, and contributing to the overall architecture of our platform. Your work will directly impact millions of users by ensuring our products are reliable, scalable, and innovative. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a passion for web development, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will collaborate closely with other developers, participate in code reviews, and help shape the future of our platform through your technical expertise and creative problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in WordPress plugin development, architecture, and adherence to coding standards
- Advanced proficiency in PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices such as OOP, autoloading, namespaces, traits, and interfaces
- Strong familiarity with JavaScript, including vanilla JS, jQuery, and ES6+ features
- Experience with build tools like Gulp and Webpack
- Knowledge of package managers such as Composer and NPM
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs such as Stripe, Drip, Zapier, etc.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub
- Ability to iterate quickly and ship features efficiently
- Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience working remotely or as a freelancer is preferred
- Personal computer with reliable internet access
- Availability for audio/video meetings during EST business hours (9 am - 5 pm)
- Triaging and resolving bugs and small enhancements via GitHub
- Scoping, developing, and testing new product features and add-ons
- Refactoring legacy codebases with attention to backward compatibility
- Conducting peer reviews on GitHub pull requests and providing constructive feedback
- Communicating effectively with team members through chat, audio, and video channels
- Collaborating on both front-end and back-end development tasks
- Participating in planning sessions and contributing to technical discussions
- Documenting code and development processes for future reference
